VEEP engages REV2026 attendees with hands-on energy learning tools.
On October 14, hundreds assembled in Burlington for REV2026, the largest comprehensive renewable energy gathering in the region. The annual conference brought together business leaders, policymakers, regulators, and others working to build a path for a 100% renewable energy future.
The conference began with REV’s Women in Energy Breakfast, an annual opportunity to network with industry leaders, featuring special guests Allison Bates Wannop, Sparkfund’s Vice President of Regulatory Affairs & Wholesale Markets, and Joan White, SEIA’s Senior Director of Storage and Interconnection Policy.
Dan Reicher, the executive director of the Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance at Stanford University, delivered the event’s keynote address. Reicher examined the relationship between policy, technology, and finance when planning a sustainable energy future, and discussed his Uncommon Dialogue work on hydropower, river restoration, and public safety.

This year’s panel agenda featured a topical focus on affordability and was kicked off with a discussion tackling energy affordability in New England, led by Vermont Public Utility Commissioner Riley Allen. Presentations on energy storage’s role in energy affordability, Vermont’s rating on energy affordability, and accelerating timelines for distributed generation drew attendees, along with sessions on updating net metering for a changing grid, workforce development, and the benefits of energy trade with Canada.
One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of the Renewable Energy Lifetime Achievement Award to Jito Coleman and Jonathan Lynch. Coleman and Lynch, both pioneers in the development of renewables in Vermont, were joined on stage with former Northern Power Systems team members to celebrate Vermont’s renewable energy history.
The day’s events concluded with a closing plenary titled Clean, Reliable, Affordable: The Benefits of Renewables, featuring Dan Sosland, the president of the Acadia Center.
Planning is already underway for REV2027, scheduled for October 13, 2027.
