This panel brings together expert service providers to explore how Vermont consumers can plan holistically for the goal of 100% renewable energy use. Planning tools and considerations include energy audits, electrification of thermal and transportation needs, renewable energy generation, and more. Panelists will present case-study-based evidence from Vermonters who have undertaken the transformation to a 100% renewable property and lifestyle.

Shannon has worked with Green Mountain Solar as a Solar Advisor for the past 4 years, helping hundreds of residential and commercial customers to make the decision to go solar. Shannon demonstrates a deep commitment to the environment and to Vermont’s communities, starting his career studying Environmental Science and Policy, and moving on to manage political campaigns helping to improve the lives of Vermonters. This background, coupled with Shannon’s deep technical knowledge and solar industry expertise from his time at GMS, makes him an avid educator of all prospects looking to start their renewables journey

Melanie Paskevich, NeighborWorks of Western Vermont Director of Operations, has managed the HEAT Squad program since it began in 2010. Melanie advocates for homeowners, working closely with HEAT Squad’s intake specialists, energy auditors, outreach and marketing teams. Melanie has over 30 years of experience in the architectural and construction field with a thorough knowledge of building science and technology of energy efficiency. She holds a Master of Architecture degree.
Gwen St. Sauveur Founder and CEO, BTF Residential Designs
Gwen St.Sauveur EI LEED GA, is currently the CEO of BTF Net Zero Designs. Over her career Gwen has worn the various hats of mechanical engineer, MEP designer, architectural designer, construction coordinator & estimator. For a decade she was a mechanical engineer gaining hands-on experience through hundreds of commercial projects across New England. In 2015, she launched BTF Net Zero Designs, with the goal of merging residential architecture and engineering. BTF provides stock Net Zero home plans & custom design solutions for builders & homeowners nationwide.
Tom Perry Technical Director, Zero Energy Now
Tom is the Technical Director of Zero Energy Now, a non-profit program designed to support homeowners, businesses, and others in transforming their existing homes or buildings to renewable energy. Tom’s work for the program focuses on development of design tools that, on a house by house basis, develop the most effective and affordable strategies to eliminate their reliance on fossil fuels, and maximize carbon reduction. Before becoming involved with ZEN, Tom was a residential building contractor for over thirty years, and a BPI certified weatherization and Home Performance contractor for twelve years.
