Renewable Energy Vermont
REV seeks a team oriented person to implement a broad array of communications, outreach, and operations work. The communications and operations associate will create and manage REV’s outreach and marketing efforts including press releases, videos, event presence, websites, social media channels, email newsletters, factsheets, and more. The position also includes administrative work such as office and data management, requiring the ability to interface comfortably with various software programs and great attention to detail. As the front line of customer service, the associate serves as the first point of contact for REV, answering the phone to all general public and REV member questions. The associate will support REV’s Executive Director and Assistant Director on various tasks to progress our dynamic non-profit organization’s mission.
This person will work under the supervision of the Controller to perform various routine accounting tasks daily for AllEarth Renewables and its sister companies, such as entering vendor invoices, generating AP checks and ACH payments, auditing expense reports, maintaining the AP filing systems, and monthly closing duties. She/he will also assist with Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing for all customers, reconciling A/R to the General Ledger and other routine duties. Our new staff member must have the interpersonal skills necessary to handle sensitive and confidential situations. This position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
The successful candidate must have a BS in Accounting or the appropriate combination of a college degree and on-the-job experience. Must also have at least 3 years of progressively responsible job experience, a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), excellent computer skills, communication skills (both verbal and written), and the ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently. Analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various problems, and prioritize work. This position requires continual and outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail in entering and proofing data, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
