Renewable Energy Vermont | Energy Policy Internship

The energy policy intern works directly with REV’s Executive Director and Legislative & Policy Committee to advance renewable energy and climate policy during the 2017 legislative session before the Vermont General Assembly, Public Service Board, and State Agencies. Duties include: tracking legislation, developing factsheets, attending hearings, issue research, assisting in coalition meetings, helping organize lobby days, developing bill summaries, drafting comments and action alerts. Candidates with legal background will assist with regulatory filings and proceedings. Issues include: low-income access, tax incentives, wind sound, regional and town plans, net metering, modern wood heating, transmission, renewable energy siting, environmental permitting, and more.

Renewable Energy Vermont | Marketing & Communications Internship

The communications and marketing intern works with REV’s staff and the Board of Director’s membership committee to improve the organization’s membership and public communication and outreach efforts. Duties include: redesigning e-newsletter, website updates, creating multimedia messages, growing REV’s social media reach, drafting and placing letters to the editor, attending community outreach events, and helping to develop a communications campaign. The Intern will work to maintain and update the website, distribute materials through various digital channels, and develop compelling visual content for print and web applications.

Building Energy | Solar Installer

Work on our team installing residential solar systems and cold climate heat pump systems based out of our Burlington area headquarters. The applicant: Must have experience installing residential solar systems, be comfortable with heights and ladders. Should be able to lift over 50 pounds, must be mechanically oriented and comfortable with hand tools, should enjoy working outside in the varied Vermont weather. Please send resume and cover letter to Russ Flanigan via email or call at the office 802-859-3384 ext 114.

Burlington Electric Department | Manager of Strategy & Innovation, Chief Operating Officer

The Manager of Innovation & Strategy shall be a member of the executive management team at Burlington Electric Department (BED) and provide leadership, direction, and oversight of the Center for Innovation, “Product Design & Development” area of BED. This position acts as BED’s Chief Operating Officer, in the absence of the General Manager (GM) and with the GM’s designation; this position has the full authority to act on behalf of the GM. This position has direct oversight of the Resource Planning, Finance, Information Technology, Energy Services and Administration departments, employees, contractors and related functions. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of BED’s power supply, financial, technology, efficiency, and smart grid efforts including the design, development, launch, and operationalization of new customer offerings.

Norwich Technologies | Project Administrator

Norwich Technologies is seeking an project administrator to work with our sales and engineering team to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency. As a start-up company, a broad range of activites and skills will be required. Vermont Public Service Dept. | Energy Policy & Program Analyst

Vermont Public Service Dept. have a new role in the Planning and Energy Resources Division on topics such as transportation efficiency (e.g. public transit, walking, biking, etc.); land use planning for locational efficiency and smart growth; electric vehicles (including as a resource on the electric grid); biofuels (including liquid biofuels for heating, and in-state production); and land use planning for electric generation siting. This position will involve interfacing and managing relationships with partners in other relevant agencies and outside organizations, counterparts in other states, regional planning commissions, and contractors or grant recipients.
