Is Home Solar Market Dimming?

There was a time, not so long ago, when solar installers could barely keep up with the orders coming from homeowners who wanted to power their dwellings with the sun.

It was late 2007. An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore’s documentary about global warming, had come out the year before and sparked intense public interest in reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

New Hampshire and Vermont joined other states in boosting the rebates and tax incentives to homeowners who wanted to install renewable energy systems, and solar proved a popular choice.
